Hours
Saturdays 10:00 am - 5:00 pm (Main) or 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (C.M. Shields Branch)
Sundays 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
(Scheduling may include one shift, both Saturday and Sunday shifts, or no shift at all)
Position Summary
The Timmins Public Library will be hiring up to four Library Clerks to work on a casual basis at both library branches for the winter term primarily on Saturdays and Sundays.
Duties
• Circulation duties (opening/closing, check in/check out all library materials, renewals, answer phones, generate and process hold lists, place holds, accept payments, retrieve books on shelves, call patrons for reserved materials, re-shelve materials, shelf read all collections, maintain patron membership records, etc.)
• Assist patrons as needed
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Customer service experience
• Two-year community college diploma
• Good keyboarding and internet searching skills
• Bilingualism is a definite asset (English and French)
• Articulate, dependable, self-motivated and enjoy working with the public of all ages
• Current WHMIS certificate
• Current and clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen required
