Taykwa Tagamou Nation along side Moose Cree First Nation, have committed to work alongside in exploring the potential water-power development and other energy projects within the Moose River Basin, north of highway 11, to meet the power needs of Ontario. Ontario has a renewable energy on crown land policy, which acknowledges and recognizes the provincial government’s commitment to co-planning with certain First Nation communities for any hydro development within the Moose River Basin, north of Highway 11 (the “Moose River Basin Commitment”).
Under the direction of Co-Planning Leads and Business Development Officer and in accordance with the policies adopted by Taykwa Tagamou Nation (TTN) the Environmental Field Technician will assist the Moose River Basin Partnership Committee (MRBPC or also referred to as the Co-Planning Committee) in administering effective, efficient, and accurate aquatic, terrestrial, and archaeological fieldwork in collaboration with onsite environmental consultants incorporating government regulations and community best practices. The Environmental Field Technician will ensure that environmental practices align with both Indigenous law and government practices.
