Marketing and Communication Specialist
Location: Timmins, Ontario
Term: 3-Year Contract (35 hours per week)
Reports To: Executive Director
About the Alzheimer Society of Cochrane-Timmins
The Alzheimer Society of Cochrane-Timmins (also serving the Temiskaming region) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, as well as their caregivers. We offer education, awareness, and support programs across Northern Ontario communities.
We are currently seeking a Marketing and Communication Specialist to join our team. This position plays a key role in managing our online presence, coordinating events, and strengthening community awareness and engagement through creative marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Marketing (20%)
- 
Manage and monitor social media accounts and website activity 
- 
Track metrics, generate reports, and suggest strategies based on analytics 
- 
Create engaging content for digital platforms 
Website Management (25%)
- 
Update and maintain website content to ensure accuracy and brand consistency 
- 
Monitor website performance (links, errors, analytics, etc.) 
- 
Collaborate with shared services on special web projects 
Fund Development (30%)
- 
Plan and implement fundraising events, including the annual Walk for Alzheimer’s 
- 
Support additional charity revenue initiatives and community fundraising efforts 
Awareness (20%)
- 
Collaborate with the Education team to plan and deliver awareness campaigns and public events 
- 
Promote January Awareness Month and other regional initiatives across all media platforms 
Communications (5%)
- 
Draft newsletters, social media posts, and marketing materials for print and digital use 
- 
Support internal and external communications 
Qualifications
- 
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or Digital Media, or equivalent experience 
- 
1–3 years of relevant experience, including social media management 
- 
Proficiency in creative and digital tools such as Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat Pro, and Microsoft Office Suite 
- 
Experience with marketing/fundraising systems (e.g., Blackbaud, Luminate) 
- 
Working knowledge of HTML, graphic design tools, and Google Analytics 
- 
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills 
- 
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines 
- 
Bilingual (English/French) is an asset 
- 
Occasional travel within the Cochrane–Temiskaming region required
