Contract: Temporary Full-Time position
The Physiotherapist is responsible for delivering comprehensive, evidence-based physiotherapy services across inpatient, outpatient, and long-term care settings. This includes assessment, treatment, consultation, and collaboration with other care providers to support patient recovery and optimize function.
In this role, the Physiotherapist supports patients with acute, surgical, rehabilitation, and complex continuing care needs, including those recovering from total joint replacements under the Bundled Care program. The Physiotherapist also plays an essential role in enhancing the mobility and quality of life for long-term care residents. Delegation of treatment to a Physiotherapist Assistant is expected where appropriate.
Key responsibilities include coordinating care with internal and external partners, maintaining timely and accurate documentation, promoting a culture of safety, and adhering to all health and infection control protocols. A strong commitment to professional development and interprofessional collaboration is essential.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Physical Therapy or equivalent
- Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- Post-graduate experience preferred
- ADP certification preferred
- Excellent knowledge of orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, neurological and geriatric conditions
- Current certificate in basic CPR considered an asset
- Ministry of Labour Worker Health & Safety Awareness Training Certificate
- Proficiency using standard business computer applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Demonstrated pattern of excellent attendance
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Bilingualism preferred (French, English)
- Must be physically able to perform repetitive bending, reaching, pushing, lifting and transferring using proper/safe body mechanics
- A satisfactory vulnerable sector check will be required by the successful candidate as a condition of employment
