Compensation: Hourly rate $36.00

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Northern Sun Mining currently has an exciting opportunity for a Loadout Equipment Operator to join our Operations department. Reporting to the Mill Operations Shift Supervisor, the ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating loadout equipment to ensure materials are loaded accurately and in accordance with site specifications.
Please note that this is not a camp-based position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate loadout equipment, including front-end loaders, conveyors, and other heavy machinery.
- Load materials into transport vehicles according to weight and volume specifications.
- Unload materials delivered to the site efficiently and safely.
- May be required to perform snow removal on site as required to maintain safe and accessible work areas.
- Inspect equipment daily and perform basic maintenance checks to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Monitor material quality and report any irregularities or contamination.
- Coordinate with scale house, logistics, and control room staff to ensure smooth and accurate loadout processes.
- Keep work areas clean and clear of obstructions, ensuring compliance with site safety and environmental standards.
- Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
- Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
- Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- MTCU Basic Mill Operator Common Core.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in operating heavy equipment in a mining or aggregate environment.
- Valid heavy equipment operator certification is highly regarded.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license.
- Ability to operate equipment in all weather conditions.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for addressing equipment issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
