Griener Lambert Professional Corporation seeks a full-time legal assistant to support its lawyers and law clerks in attending to various file-related matters. The successful candidate will organize file contents, sort and manage communication, process invoices and payments, and assist lawyers and clerks in managing various other matters relating to business, real estate, and tax law.
Responsibilities of the legal assistant will also include, without limitation, the following:
· Drafting routine correspondence on behalf of lawyers.
· Preparing legal documents from written and oral instructions and precedents.
· Conducting legal research and compiling data.
· Assisting with the preparation of client invoices and track billable hours.
· Handling billing inquiries and follow up on outstanding payments.
· Preparing financial statements and reports.
· Providing support to other lawyers and staff as required and requested.
Ideal qualifications include:
· Working knowledge of office systems, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
· Good communication and organizational skills
· A professional and client-centered attitude
· Although experience working within a law firm is an asset, the firm will consider candidates with no such experience and is willing to provide training.
