Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprentice to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in repairing and maintaining various types of heavy machinery.. This role requires a combination of mechanical expertise and customer service skills to ensure optimal performance and satisfaction for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in heavy equipment, ensuring all repairs meet safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including oil changes, inspections, and adjustments.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics to troubleshoot electrical problems.
- Weld and fabricate parts as needed for repairs or modifications.
- Assemble and disassemble equipment components for maintenance or upgrades.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects in a timely manner.
- Self-motivated & proactive work ethic.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and schematics.
- Ability to perform welding tasks and basic fabrication work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to provide effective customer service.
- A valid driver’s license is required; additional certifications related to heavy equipment operation are a plus.
Education
- High School Diploma
- Post Secondary Trade School would be considered an asset
- Enrolled in, or willing to enroll in Apprenticeship Program
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
