POSITION SUMMARY:
Constance Lake First Nation is looking for a Family Well-Being Community Coordinator. This role helps
children, youth, and families by providing culturally based, prevention-oriented programs and connecting
community services that encourage safety, healing, and overall family well-being. This role empowers
families to build healthy bonds and relationships through holistic and culturally appropriate healing and
prevention programs, in alignment with the vision and values of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation Family Well-
Being Program.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 Grade 12 diploma required; post-secondary education in Health, Social Services, Community
Development, Indigenous Studies, Education, or a related field is an asset. A combination of relevant
education, training, and community experience may be considered.
 Strong communication skills and ability to engage respectfully with families, youth, Elders, and
community members.
 Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, wellness practices, trauma-informed approaches, and
land-based activities.
 Experience in program planning, coordination, delivery, and evaluation, particularly in prevention and
wellness programming.
 Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities; able to work independently and
as part of a multidisciplinary team.
 Strong computer and administrative skills, including Microsoft Office.
 Ability to coordinate events, collaborate with partners, and support volunteer engagement.
 Flexible and able to travel, work varied hours, and handle sensitive information confidentially.

Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver community-based programs that support children, youth, and families, including
those impacted by trauma or violence.
• Connect families with community services and assist with navigating external systems (e.g., child
welfare, justice, family support).
• Organize culturally grounded, land-based, and wellness-focused events, workshops, and activities.
• Collaborate with community agencies and internal programs to coordinate services and improve
overall service delivery.
• Maintain program documentation, data tracking, and reporting to meet funding and evaluation
requirements.
• Lead awareness initiatives such as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and National Addictions
Awareness Week.
• Facilitate workshops on topics such as bullying, lateral violence, healthy relationships, mental health,
and trauma-informed practices.
• Promote youth voice, positive role models, and restorative approaches.
• Support language revitalization, traditional knowledge sharing, and land-based learning.
• Create safe, supportive spaces that foster healing, connection, and well-being for individuals and
families.
