Job Title: Detail Drafter

Experience Requirement

• A minimum of 5 years working in the mining industry is required.
• Previous experience with heavy duty mining equipment and buckets is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in the mining industry with a focus on drafting design.
• Proficiency in CAD/SolidWorks or equivalent drafting software.
• Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with industry standards, safety protocols, and best practices in fabrication and design.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Technical Responsibilities:

• Develop scopes of work for projects and perform reverse engineering as required.
• Conduct material take-offs for shop projects.
• Design parts and components for fabrication.
• Utilize CAD/SolidWorks (or equivalent software) to create detailed drawings, diagrams, and models.
• Inspect and verify the accuracy and feasibility of designs and resolve potential issues.
• Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with third-party engineers and firms to maintain quality and compliance.
• Provide technical support and guidance on fabrication techniques to shop staff.

Production & Operations Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with shop staff to ensure accurate execution of detailed designs.
• Offer technical support and guidance to production personnel.
• Monitor production progress to ensure adherence to project timelines.
• Assist in developing and refining production processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with procurement to source appropriate materials.
• Maintain and update work orders and production documentation.
• Act as a liaison with clients, providing technical insights, updates, and recommendations.
• Oversee quality control measures to maintain high manufacturing standards.
• Recommend improvements in tooling, equipment, and workflow to enhance operations.

• Pay Range: $35 - $45 hourly depending on experience.
