POSITION: Cook and Housekeeper
External Posting Period: Until position is filled.
Status: Part-time
Hrs. of Work: Variable up to an equivalent of 80 hrs./2wks.
Wages and Benefits: Are according to current CBA wage rate for C/H. All other provisions of the CBA for part-time employees shall apply.
Other: This is a pilot position with possibility of becoming Permanent Full-time. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable, large capacity vehicle.
Jubilee Centre is a community-based Mental Health & Addiction agency offering a range of live-in services and programming to a co-ed adult population. We are currently seeking a combined C/H for the dietary and housekeeping departments.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director: Finance & Resource Development or alternate, and in collaboration with the Client Care Team, the C/H is responsible for a) Dietary: the ordering; purchase of and preparation, cooking and portioning of all food that is required by the clients and staff according to the established menu and schedule of routine and b) Housekeeping: maintaining the cleanliness of the premises and furniture and c) Laundry: providing laundry services and running errands as required.
Summary of Qualifications/Requirements:
· Minimum secondary school diploma with minimum one year (preferably two years) work experience in a dietary/housekeeping capacity;
· Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills;
· Passion for helping individuals with mental health and/or addiction challenges;
· Flexible & able to work under minimal supervision, adapts easily to unanticipated changes to work environment and conditions ;
· Understanding of cultural safety, diversity and equity;
· Valid Certified Food Handler Certificate (or willing to obtain)
Assets: Other factors being equal, preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:
· Proficiency in both official languages (French and English);
· Identifies as Indigenous, First Nation or Métis;
· Valid Housekeeping Training Certificate;
· Valid First Aid, CPR, WHMIS Certificate.
