POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Health Director, the Community Health Nurse delivers programs focusing on health promotion and disease prevention to the Wabun First Nations communities. Through regular community visits, the following programs will be provided.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor of Nursing Degree or Registered Nurse with Community Health Nursing Certificate or Registered Nurse with appreciate experience
· Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
· Must have knowledge of Indigenous people, culture, traditions, and communities
· Minimum of 2 years experience in nursing
· Current CNO & RNAO Registration
· Current certification in CPR, Standard First Aid and Immunizations
· Ability to speak Ojibway, Cree or Oji-Cree language is considered an asset
· Satisfactory CPIC and vulnerable sectors check
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide nursing care in home and clinic settings, including IV therapy, wound care, medication administration, and phlebotomy
· Assess clients and help develop and implement individualized care plans with the direction of the Health Director
· Maintain accurate documentation and update client records in accordance with CNO standards
· Support clients and caregivers in providing safe care at home
