About the Timmins Chamber
Representing over 650 member businesses and organizations, the Timmins Chamber of Commerce is a nationally accredited and award winning business association. Through advocacy, education, networking, and member services, the Chamber works to create opportunities for business and support economic growth across the community.
The Opportunity
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is the senior leader to a team of 4 core staff. Reporting to the 21- volunteer member Board of Directors, the CAO provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure the Chamber continues to deliver value to its members and the broader business community.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of the business environment, strong management skills, and the ability to foster relationships across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all aspects of Chamber operations, programs, and services.
- Guide, mentor, and support Chamber staff and volunteers.
- Manage financial planning, budgets, and reporting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members, community partners, and all levels of government.
- Support the Board of Directors in governance, policy development, and strategic planning.
- Drive initiatives that align with the Chamber’s vision/mission and the evolving needs of its membership.
- Promote and protect the Chamber’s brand and public image.
- Facilitate advocacy efforts to influence positive change for the business community.
Qualifications and Skills
- Post secondary education in business, management, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of senior leadership experience, ideally in a not-for-profit, business association, or economic development setting.
- Strong understanding of business operations and Northern Ontario economic issues.
- Proven experience working with boards and volunteers.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
- Advanced financial acumen and familiarity with not-for-profit governance.
- Proficiency in technology and social media tools.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

Work Environment and Compensation
This is a full-time position based in Timmins with a hybrid work structure that balances on-site presence with flexibility. The annual starting salary is $105-115K, commensurate with experience. The Chamber also offers a competitive benefits package including Chambers Group Insurance, RRSP contribution and annual bonus.
