POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director of Social Development, the Drug Treatment Court Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects the Drug Treatment Court (DTC).
The Coordinator of DTC Services is further responsible for administration and coordination of services related to DTC and related community initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
- Preferred University Degree in Social Work or Counselling and/or a minimum of 5 years work experience in a social or justice services environment.
 - Preferred Certification as an Indigenous Addictions Counsellor.
 - Experience in a clinical setting and with substance abuse is necessary; experience working with high-risk clientele with substance use issues in a helping capacity.
 - Experience working in the area of mental health, addictions, and completion of assessments.
 - Knowledge of the judicial system, Criminal Code, and other related federal and provincial statutes.
 - Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture, history, and the social reality that Indigenous people experience in an urban setting; knowledge of an Indigenous language(s) considered an asset.
 - Expertise and understanding of the principals involved to provide culturally grounded trauma-informed care and wise practices within service delivery, continuum of care, and group programming.
 - Experience in program delivery, supervision, operations, administration and budgeting.
 - Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, problem solve and make decisions.
 - Ability to engage people to build trust and rapport.
 - Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems.
 - Excellent organizational and administration skills; able to set priorities under tight deadlines.
 - Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills; ability to edit and prepare reports.
 - Proficiency in Microsoft Office including database applications.
 - Excellent file management skills, stress management and time management skills.
 - Proven work experience in managing crisis support and ability to mediate conflict.
 - Demonstrated health and safety leadership skills.
 - Demonstrated mentoring, coaching, and professional development skills.
 - Experience planning and leading educational, one-on-one and/ or support groups. Ability to plan, coordinate and deliver educational and prevention workshops.
