Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, the Environmental Coordinator will supervise the 
Environmental Technicians and oversee all aspects of environmental activities at the Black Fox Mine and 
Stock Mine/Mill Site that the Technicians are involved with. They will ensure that the Technicians work 
safely and in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures. They will assess and ensure 
compliance with the company’s environmental permits and applicable environmental legislation 
through the development and continuous improvement of the company’s environmental management 
system. They must be a committed team player with strong knowledge of and dedication to safety and 
production methods. Other duties will be assigned as per operational needs.

required to undertake such duties as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the position. All 
employees are required to be professional, cooperative and flexible in line with the requirements of the 
position. 
Operational / Technical Execution: 
 
Implementing environmental management system, (EMS) strategies, programs and procedures 
to ensure compliance with legislation, corporate commitments and sustainable development 
policies, and other requirements. 
 
In coordination with the Environmental Superintendent, develop and implement of training 
programs for Black Fox personnel relating to environmental issues and responsibilities, 
including training of supervisory and management staff, as required. 
 
Monitor weather and site conditions (e.g., precipitation, wind, weather forecast) that may 
impact erosion, fugitive dust emissions, sampling events, water quality or quantity, or pond 
levels. 
 
Coordination of site rehabilitation and reclamation efforts. 
 
Ensure execution of routine environmental functions of subordinates ensuring high quality 
delivery of duties. 
 
Provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to direct reports. 
 
Lead the team towards achieving set targets and goals. 
 Develop staff, ensure that all required training is carried out as per identified skills 
requirements. 
 
Provide support for onsite emergency and spill response activities. 
 
Provide field support when required. 
 
General Administration and Controls 
 
Prepare daily tailgate meeting with line-up. 
 Organize required documentation to obtain necessary permits. 
 Develop and maintain pollution controls, pollution prevention, waste management and 
recycling programs. 
 
Administration and coordination of regulatory (provincial and federal) compliance programs, 
studies and requirements. 
 
Provide administrative support to Environmental Superintendent for liaising between 
government agencies and stakeholders such as the MOE, MNDM, DFO, First Nations. 
 
Timely communication of monitoring results based on priority, to the Environmental 
Superintendent. 
 Maintain inventory of environmental equipment, instrumentation and materials for conducting 
required monitoring programs. 
 
Analyze and compile environmental monitoring data. 
 
Compilation of internal and regulatory reports for review and submission. 
 
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks and raise health 
and safety awareness. 
 
In consultation with HR department, hire appropriate staff to ensure skills and capability for 
the Environmental department. 
Qualifications and Skills Requirement: 
 
Must be authorized to work in Canada. 
 
Valid driver’s license and a reliable means of transportation. 
 Ability to work safely, efficiently, and always maintain a safety conscious mentality within the 
Mining environment. 
 
Good safety knowledge and understanding with the ability to recognize, reduce or eliminate 
hazards and situations that may cause problems. 
 
Self-motivated person, with a positive attitude and possesses strong organizational and time 
management skills. 
 
Ability to interact with a wide variety of departments/roles. 
 
Ability to maintain attention to detail in a fast moving and demanding environment. 
 
The ability to work positively with a team of professional and technical people in a changing, 
creative, and energetic environment is critical. 
 
Excellent communications skills, as well as competency in computer applications, such as: 
Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word 
 
Strong report writing skills. 
 
University Degree or College Diploma in Environmental Sciences. 
 
Working knowledge of Environmental legislation pertaining to the metal mining industry. 
 
A minimum of 4 years’ experience directly related to environmental activities. 
 
Related experience with water quality monitoring is an asset. 
 Geographic Information System (GIS) experience is an asset. 
 
Experience using canoe, ATV's, snowmobiles is an asset. 
 
Experience in a Mine, Mill, or other industrial setting an asset 
 
 Surface mining environments - ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions- occasional 
underground environment. 
 Must be physically fit and capable of performing physical labor such as lifting. 
 
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
