Hôpital Notre-Dame Hospital (Hearst) is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our leadership team as the Executive Leader of Professional Practice and Oncology Services. This role will collaborate closely with the other members of the Executive Leader team to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients. The successful individual will oversee nursing education and professional development while managing the operations of the Oncology department in accordance with established standards and budgetary guidelines. The Executive Leader will also serve as a key mentor and resource for nursing staff, providing educational support to enhance patient care and nursing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Executive Leader for the Oncology department, overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate closely with the other Executive Leaders to drive departmental initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead the development and delivery of nursing education programs, including orientation, skill certification, and continuing education, to promote professional growth among nursing staff.
- Ensure educational programs meet competency requirements and accreditation standards, contributing to improved patient care.
- Mentor and coach clinical staff, supporting their professional development through coaching, workshops, and training sessions.
- Lead various committees, including the Nursing Advisory Committee, Quality Assurance Committee and others, to ensure optimal patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Participate in recruitment activities and assist with the onboarding of new clinical staff, ensuring a smooth integration into the organization.
- Monitor the ongoing educational needs of staff and continuously assess and improve training programs to meet evolving care standards.
- Collaborate with HR, quality teams, and other stakeholders to support the integration of educational priorities into departmental strategies.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with a BScN or RN Diploma and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in healthcare, with a preference for experience in oncology or related clinical settings.
- Certified trainer in BLS and ACLS is an asset.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, multimedia tools, and experience in program development and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and drive change within a multidisciplinary team.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a clinical setting with light physical activity.
- Flexibility in work hours, with involvement in a manager on-call rotation.
