Conservation and Heritage Management Internship
Work Conditions:
$20.00/hour
490 hours (35h/week, May-August 2025)

Job Description:
- The hired candidate will contribute to the museum's practices, knowledge and interpretations of the region's history by carrying out various projects for the summer programming. The main tasks of the position include:
- Prepare the Blais Heritage House for the Spring-Summer program;
- Ensure the museum's opening and closing;
- Lead guided and walking tours as needed;
- Assist the management team in organizing and running museum activities and events (exhibition launches, social teas, escape game, other events possible);
- Assist the communication officer in preparing Facebook and Instagram posts;
- Attend board meetings and take minutes in the absence of the secretary;
- Support, as needed, museum directors and volunteers in tasks related to storage, conservation and cataloging artifacts, the design of new exhibits, research projects, as well as the preparation of promotional or fundraising activities.
The ideal candidate should:
- Be enrolled in post-secondary studies or have obtained a post-secondary diploma in a relevant field of study within the last 24 months;
- Have a particular interest in local history;
- Be versatile and accustomed to working independently;
- Have strong written and spoken proficiency in both French and English;
- Have good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google applications, Facebook, Instagram, Zoom, etc.);
- Be aged between 16 to 30 years old at the start of employment;
- Have Canadian citizenship, refugee status, or permanent residency in Canada;
- Be eligible for the Young Canada Works program.
